Crestron DigitalMedia distributes all analog and digital signals long distance over a single CAT5e cable. There are no new wires to pull or connectors to terminate. If I wanted to take part in the "Cash For Trash" upgrade program, what type of information does Crestron need regarding my existing system prior to participating?
As with almost any process, the more detail that can be offered is always better to provide you with superior support. Details about the equipment,
drawings and/or flow diagrams will assist us in recommending the right products for your upgrade. The more information that you provide us about your system, the better we will be able to assess your upgrade needs. Such information can include details about your particular equipment, drawings, and/or flow diagrams.
How much is my equipment worth within the trade-in program? How is the trade-in value determined?
Each system is evaluated by Crestron on a case-by-case basis. You may be able to receive up to 100% of the value of your trade-in gear - By e-mailing your product information to
cashfortrash@crestron.com, Crestron can easily calculate the trade-in value relative to the new hardware.
Are only Crestron products eligible for trade-in or do you take Extron®, Control4®, etc?
All analog products eligible. We will accept Crestron or third-party equipment for trade-in as long as they are upgraded to a comparable Crestron product and that you are upgrading a video system to DigitalMedia or an audio system to Sonnex.
Can I trade-in non-switching devices such as touch screens or control processors?
Yes - As long as you are upgrading a video system to a DigitalMedia system or an audio system to a Sonnex™ system, we will accept other products relevant to the system being upgraded. If you'd like to upgrade your third-party touch screen to a Crestron touch screen or upgrade an old Crestron control system to a new one, we will process your request with your DigtialMedia upgrade.
Where/How do I return my product?
Upon receipt of the Purchase Order (submitted to Crestron by the dealer), an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) is issued with the return address on it.
I have existing cabling to each TV. Will this work for a DigitalMedia System?
DigitalMedia 8G+™ supports CAT5e (or better) cabling. This means that you can use your existing CAT5e (shielded or unshielded) infrastructure for DigitalMedia. For new installations, we recommend using our DM-CBL-8G.
Can I buy any of the returned products at a discounted price?
No - To ensure reliability and maintain quality of our products and our clients' systems, Crestron does not re-sell used products.
What if what I wanted to order is different than what's on the quote?
Contact Sales Support Services (SSS) for a revision to your quote and Crestron will adjust your trade-in value if necessary. All Purchase Orders must reference an SSS quote number.
When will the "Cash For Trash" program end?
As of 11:59pm on June 30, 2012, the Cash For Trash program will come to an end. All orders must be placed before that time to qualify for analog equipment trade-in credit. Be sure to take advantage of this incredible opportunity while there's still time.
